Choosing the absorbency or inserts for your modern pocket style cloth diapers can be confusing. There are so many options that it can be difficult to know if you're choosing a good quality product that's going to last for the entirety of your cloth diapering experience.

Here at Kinder Cloth Diaper Co. we only stock the best natural fiber inserts. Made with high quality, ultra absorbent materials that go through a rigorous research and development period before we begin to share them with our community.

Currently, we carry four different styles of natural fiber, cloth diaper inserts in our line up at Kinder. In order from least to most absorbent, they are as follows:

4-Layer Lightweight Bamboo

Easily identifiable by the white edges, our natural fiber Lightweight 4-Layer Bamboo Diaper Inserts are the lowest of absorbency we offer. With four layers of 270 GSM (grams per square meter) bamboo terry fabric, these inserts are perfect for smaller babies or boosting with another insert.

Our bamboo inserts contain absolutely no microfiber filler layers. This means that they are less prone to compression leaks and more trim on your baby's bottom. Lightweight and breathable, our white trimmed diaper inserts are ideal for newborns, young babies and toddlers who need a little extra boost of absorbency in their cloth diapers.

4-Layer Standard Bamboo

Easily identifiable by the yellow athletic wicking jersey (AWJ) edges, our natural fiber 4-Layer Bamboo Inserts are the standard level of absorbency we offer. With four layers of 360 GSM (grams per square meter) bamboo terry fabric, these inserts are our go-to daytime insert for babies and toddlers of all ages.

Our bamboo inserts contain absolutely NO microfiber filler layers. This means that they are less prone to compression leaks and more trim on your baby's bottom.

Kinder bamboo inserts are super soft, flexible and do not shrink or "bacon" with washing. All of our inserts are also dryer safe.

4-Layer Hemp Cotton

Our natural fiber 4-Layer Hemp Cotton Inserts are a great way to add a lot of absorbency without extra bulk. Easily identifiable by their blue athletic wicking jersey edges, our hemp cotton inserts contain a blend of 30% hemp and 70% cotton fibers. The AWJ edges help prevent loose threads and insert "baconing" (the natural wrinkling of fabric during the drying process.)

These inserts are naturally more rigid than our bamboo style inserts and best for babies over 10 pounds as you may find they are too wide or bulky in the crotch to achieve a good fit on newborns and smaller babies. We love this style of absorbency for older babies and toddlers as it is very trim and holds onto liquids well.

Designed with two snaps, our hemp cotton inserts are great for attaching to any of our inserts, as well as both our pocket and cover shells.

Approx. Size (pre-washed): 15.25"x5.5"x0.125"
Finished washed size of AWJ is comparable to our 4-layer bamboo inserts 13"x5.5"x0.125"

6-Layer Hemp Cotton Bamboo

Our natural fiber 6-Layer Hemp Cotton Bamboo Inserts are a great way to add a lot of absorbency for daytime or nighttime. Easily identifiable by their green athletic wicking jersey edges, our hemp cotton bamboo inserts contain four layers of 360 GSM bamboo terry and two layers of a blend of 30% hemp and 70% cotton fibers. These inserts feature one soft bamboo terry side and one soft woven hemp/cotton side and can be worn with either side facing up toward baby's bottom.

The athletic wicking jersey (AWJ) edges help prevent loose threads and insert "baconing" (the natural wrinkling of fabric during the drying process.) Designed with one snap, our hemp cotton bamboo inserts are great for attaching to any of our inserts, as well as both our pocket and cover shells.

Our 6-Layer inserts are great for day wear on their own, or for boosting with another insert at night. These inserts are naturally more rigid than our bamboo inserts and best for babies over 10 pounds as you may find they are too wide or bulky in the crotch to achieve a good fit on newborns.

We love these inserts as daytime inserts for baby's with larger urine output that are soaking through the standard 4-layer bamboo inserts. The green 6-layer hemp cotton bamboo inserts are also a customer favorite for overnight cloth diapering.

How to wash our inserts:
Wash multiple times to reach maximum absorbency. Wash with warm water. Dry on low heat. Inserts are made of natural fibers, shrinkage is normal and to be expected. Inserts are designed longer in order to account for shrinkage.
