Frequently Asked Questions about Pocket Diapers
Do Kinder diapers come with inserts?
All of our covers and pockets are sold without inserts. This allows our customers to choose the style of absorbency they prefer. Some families prefer to use different styles of absorbency like flats and prefolds.
Providing our covers and pockets without inserts allows us to be able to offer our diapers at a lower price point, making them accessible to more families.
What size range do our modern cloth diapers fit?
Our pocket diapers are estimated to fit most babies between 7 and 60 pounds. Featuring a generous fit and 3 by 5 rise snap settings, our diapers are made to grow and adapt with your baby.
Our cover diapers have a size range of 8-40lbs.
How to prep new cloth diapers
Our modern cloth diaper shells need only be washed once before wear.
Kinder cloth diaper natural fiber diaper inserts may be washed up to three times before use to improve absorbency. However, this is not necessary. Diapers will continue to become more absorbent after several washes and wears.
How to wash cloth diapers
Washing cloth diapers can be really simple!
This simple flow can be used to build most any cloth diaper wash routine.
1. Remove solids into the toilet. This can done with a diaper sprayer toilet attachment, by physically shaking the diaper or by dunking the diaper in the toilet and "swishing" it around to remove the solids. 2. Store dirty diapers in a pail or bag until wash day. 3. Perform a prewash in your machine. We like to run my prewash with line 1 of Tide powder detergent and a normal, heavy cycle with warm water. 4. Perform a main wash. We tend to run a heavy duty cycle with an extra rinse. For this cycle we will add line 1 of tide, sometimes line 2 if it's a particularly large load.
Athletic wicking jersey is both lightweight and breathable on baby's skin. By pulling moisture away from baby's delicate skin, AWJ creates a stay-dry feeling that helps reduce chafing and discomfort.

Absolutely love these diapers. We bought the starter bundle of 30.. at first I was intimidated but now I have the hang of it and we use them all day long even when we are out and about! The small dry bags are perfect for on the go!
Absolutely love these pocket diapers!! My son was suffering from terrible rashes when using disposables. After a few days of wearing Kinders cloth diapers his skin finally healed!! Can’t wait to order more!
Kinder swim diapers are our absolute favorite! We’ve been using them for 2 summers now on 2 of our children and they are still in such great condition. The prints are cute and we’ve save so much $$$ not using disposable swim diapers!
I had waited to try this brand out since I when new to cloth diapering and wanted to make sure that I would stick with it before investing in a more “expensive” brand. I finally bought some on my third child going through cloth diapers. I SHOULD NOT HAVE WAITED. I use the pocket diapers with the jersey knit, and they are AMAZING. They are so easy to clean out and they snapped small enough for my youngest to wear them at around 1 month old. The designs are a huge plus because everything is just so cute.. I mean, who can pass up anything Busy Town??
I do wish they had an option for more natural fibers (specifically 100% organic cotton or wool)
As a first time mom and leading that our little guy is allergic to disposable diapers cloths diapers were our only option. Learning how to properly adjust the diapers was challenging. A lot of trial and error. After 1 month of learning, lot of errors and blowouts, we finally got it cloth diapers down, and loving the fun designs.
Well done, Kinder!! Well made at a great price point. We use pocket diapers and the wicking jersey makes cleaning them a breeze 🎉 cute prints all around too!! The fold over wet bag has been perfect to keep our dirty diapers in between washes (part time cloth). And to top it off, the change mat is a great size for my baby who has outgrown our diaper bag change mat; my almost 5yr old can fit head and bum on it too!!
I did SO much research on cloth diaper brands when I decided to cloth diaper my little boy and I’m so glad we decided Kinder! We have 24 diapers, 10 white inserts, and 20 green on the way for later on. He’s visibly more comfortable in his kinder diapers and he’s never had a leak or blow out in them! We’ll keep buying from Kinder!
I absolutely love the wet bag. I use it to store the clean diapers in the diaper bag in case something leaks in the diaper bag. And I love the color of the orange diaper. The book folds are amazing.
It is a staggered fit because he has a bookfold in, but otherwise, I love the pockets I got. He just turned 2 not long ago and has always been a big baby, and Kinder Cloth has always been a great fit, so I haven't tried any others.
Cute gender neutral/boy prints are so hard to find, but Kinder always has them and has the cutest prints to choose from! This is our favorite right now but also love the farm animals!
When my husband and I shared that we wanted to cloth diaper our son, so many people laughed in our faces. We heard “yeah let’s see how long that lasts,” and “you’re gonna get so sick of the laundry.” This made us even more determined to make cloth diapering work.
But with Kinder, cloth diapering has been fun and easy! We are four months into cloth diapering, and not once have I regretted it. The laundry is easy, the diapers are so effective, and so many people have been impressed with how amazing these diapers are! We are having so much fun and saving SO much money in the process!
Thank you Kinder for making cloth diapering easy and fun! We love your products!
We love our pods and change mats! This is just one pod and change mat from my last purchase but I’ve brought these everywhere with our foster babies. They fit well in diaper bags and are great even on their own! I can fit a good amount of diapers in there, with a change mat, wipes, wet bag and even a change of clothes! The quality is amazing as always and I love how I can match them with our diaper bags.
They really are the best diapers!
Using them for my 2 month old and 21 month old at the same time and thanks to the generous rise setting they fit perfectly for both of them.
Cloth diapering twins for about a year & a half. Started with a "cheap" brand just to see if they would work for our family, & we just used those until recently when we noticed our kiddos were outgrowing them. Found Kinder on socials when searching for a brand that had a bigger weight range, & we decided to get a small custom starter bundle to try them out. We fell in love pretty quickly, but the most important part for us was that our littles seemed SO much more comfortable in the Kinder brand than they ever did in the old ones (so much so that they're even willing to sleep in these ones!). The prints are adorable, the inserts are AMAZING, and the material of the covers is clearly kiddo-approved lol! We've just about fully replaced our stash now (and have been experimenting with the many different insert options), but I have a good feeling that some future prints will catch our eye and bring us back for more. Cannot recommend these diapers enough!!!
We love these pocket diapers! My little girl is 3 months and 17lbs. We use these in combination with bamboo or hemp insert. I love the way they fit and the wicking jersey inside keeps her dry and cool (which is a concern for me as we are an outdoor family and live in hot California) you can tell these are made of high quality materials and the seems are lovely. I’ll definitely be ordering more.
Kinder is our entire diaper stash, found them online and loved watching the lives of them packing orders and when i got pregnant i knew i was going to use them! My son is 19 months old and has been in them since his umbilical cord fell off. he has fluctuated from chunky to toddler and they still fit great and will fit for awhile longer. highly satisfied and will continue to use in the future with other children
These diapers are really easy to clean, and they fit really well on my baby. I love the blue inserts as our daily inserts, but all the inserts are awesome. I love the prints. I started with luxe hook and loop, and so far, my only issue has been the plastic part on the hook and loop, making sure it doesn’t rub. I ordered snap luxe, essentials, and loungers, and I can’t wait to try those next!
Love these diapers! So much nicer than disposable! I've got just over 30, prints and solid colors. Prints arrived as advertised, my only critique is that the red and orange shades weren't true to the photos. Crimson is a bit dark, cranberry is pinker, and Canary is more orange than expected.

Hi Kelsey!
Thanks so much for this feedback about our website photography. We'll be sure to pass this along to the design team.
Crimson is the color that is labeled as Cranberry in the photo here. Cranberry is more of a fall, darker red. While Crimson does lean a little more pink than red.
Just started cloth diapering and after trying out a few different brands, I quickly realized kinder is our favorite. From the ability to use the same ones throughout this journey, to the adorable prints, top notch inserts and quick shipping I couldn’t recommend enough!
I got the Blush Pocket Diaper as part of a set and I have loved the entire thing! They fit really well with obvious room to upsize as baby grows (or downsize as our next baby comes along) and have helped so much with leaks we were experiencing with other, more cheaply made brands. The color is so cute as well! ❤️
these diapers are great, however i wish it had loop option. it would make it so much easier for me as a mom but also really comfortable for my baby . i wish kinder would take this into consideration.
