Refund & Returns Policy

Please note: This return policy applies to orders shipping within the United States only. International orders are considered final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange. For assistance with an international order, please contact our support team.

At Kinder Cloth Diaper Co., your baby’s health and safety always come first. Because cloth diapers and other personal care items come into close contact with little ones’ skin, we can’t accept returns on these products unless there’s a manufacturing defect. This policy aligns with industry standards for baby and hygiene products and ensures that every item you receive is fresh, clean, and safe for use on your baby.

If You Received a Defective or Damaged Item

If your item arrives defective or damaged, you may request a replacement or full refund within 30 days of delivery under our warranty policy.

Qualifying defects include manufacturing issues such as:

  • Damaged or delaminated PUL
  • Broken or missing snaps
  • Faulty seams, stitching, or elastics
  • Fabric flaws

To start a warranty claim, simply head to our Self‑Service Returns Portal

You’ll be guided step‑by‑step through uploading photos, choosing a solution, and—if your return qualifies—printing a prepaid return label.

Defects must be reported upon receipt or after the first wash cycle as part of our warranty policy. Once inspected and confirmed, refunds will be issued to the original payment method or an exchange will be shipped promptly.

Items ineligible for return

Because cloth diapers are personal care items that are used directly against your baby’s skin, we’re unable to accept returns on these products unless there’s a verified manufacturing defect. This policy follows industry standards for baby and hygiene products and helps ensure every Kinder item you receive is clean, sanitary, and safe for your little one.

For this reason, all cloth diapers, inserts and absorbency products, wipes, and skincare items are considered final sale. However, we understand that gifts don’t always go as planned—exceptions are made for new and unused items received as baby shower gifts. Approved gift returns will be processed as an exchange or store credit.

To start a gifted return or exchange, simply head to our Self‑Service Returns Portal.

Important Return Guidelines for Eligible items

To keep our products hygienic and safe for every family, approved returns must be:

  • In original packaging (if applicable)
  • Unworn, unwashed, and unprepped

For health and safety reasons, Kinder does not accept returns that have been used, washed, or show any signs of odor (e.g., detergent, fragrance, smoke, etc.).

All eligible items received through the returns process are carefully inspected. Products that arrive in unsanitary conditions will be safely discarded and will not be refunded.

If a return is approved, the refund will be issued to your original payment method, less shipping costs unless otherwise noted.

Exchanges for Gifts

We understand that gifts don’t always go as planned—exceptions are made for new and unused items received as baby shower gifts. Approved gift returns will be processed as an exchange or store credit.

Approved gift exchanges must meet the same hygiene standards and will be processed after inspection. Depending on your preference, you can choose store credit or an exchange for an item of equal value.

To start a gifted return or exchange, simply head to our Self‑Service Returns Portal.

Unauthorized Returns

All returns and exchanges must be started through the Self‑Service Returns Portal. Items sent without approval may be denied and safely discarded without a refund. This helps us maintain strict health and hygiene standards.

Refund Processing Policy

Once a refund has been processed on our end, it may take additional time for the funds to appear in your account. Most banks and credit card providers require 3 to 10 business days to complete refund transactions.

Processing times can vary depending on your financial institution and payment method. If you haven’t seen your refund after 10 business days, we recommend contacting your bank or credit card company for an update.

Damaged, Lost, or Incorrect Orders

Please check your order as soon as it arrives. If a package or product is damaged, defective, or incorrect, submit a claim through the Self‑Service Returns Portal within 7 days of delivery.

If you opted in to Loop Checkout+, your order is protected in the event of transit damage, loss, or misdelivery—and you’ll receive a replacement or refund free of charge.

If you did not purchase Loop Checkout+ or Route Shipping Protection, Kinder is not responsible for items lost or damaged during shipping. Claims for uninsured packages must be submitted directly to the carrier.

If an incorrect item is sent, Kinder will issue a prepaid label and ship out the correct replacement at no cost to you once the wrong item is returned.

Return‑to‑Sender or Incorrect Address

Kinder ships to the address provided at checkout. If a package is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address, you may:

  • Reship the order (for an additional shipping fee), or
  • Receive a refund minus original shipping costs.

We encourage customers to double‑check shipping information before completing checkout to prevent delays.

Orders are shipped to the exact shipping address provided at checkout. Please double‑check your information before completing your purchase. Kinder Cloth Diaper Co. is not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect or incomplete address entered by the customer.

If an order is delivered to the address provided at checkout, it is considered fulfilled. Customers are not eligible for reshipment or refund due to address entry errors.

Order Cancellations & Returns

We understand plans can change! Orders can be canceled only before they’re processed for shipment. Once your order is packed, we’re unable to modify or cancel it.

If you need to cancel, email us right away at help@kinderdiapers.com  with your order number and the email address used for checkout.

Kinder reserves the right to cancel any order suspected of fraudulent activity or misuse of promotions.

In the event you need to cancel an order that has already shipped, we offer a 7-day window from the day the items are delivered. We’re unable to accept most returns, so please review our return details above. Only unworn, unwashed, and unprepped items that are not marked final sale may be returned within 7 days of delivery. All return requests must be submitted through our Self‑Service Returns Portal. Returns submitted outside this process or after the 7-day window will not be accepted.

Wash and Care Policy

Kinder Cloth Diaper Co. diapers and accessories are thoughtfully designed to withstand everyday use, but regular wear and washing over time will naturally affect their appearance and performance. Because cloth diapers experience frequent laundering and daily use, normal wear and tear is not covered under our warranty.

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects for 30 days from the date your order is marked delivered and applies only to the original purchaser. This coverage does not include issues that result from standard use or damage caused by improper washing or drying.

If you’re wondering whether the issue you’re seeing is a manufacturing defect or the result of normal wear and tear, start by reviewing the following qualifying defects.

Manufacturing defects include:

  • Damaged or delaminated PUL, excluding cracks or tears caused by improper wash or care over time.
  • Broken or missing snaps, excluding damage from getting caught in washing machine or dryer parts.
  • Faulty seams, stitching, or elastics, excluding damage from diapers fitted too tightly or from using bleach, vinegar, or other harsh treatments.
  • Fabric flaws, excluding snags in the jersey mesh from contact with hook and loop closures, jewelry, or washing machine components.

If your diaper’s issue doesn’t match one of these examples, it’s most likely the result of normal wear, frequent use, or improper wash and care—not a manufacturing defect.

Damage caused by mold growth is not covered under warranty, as mold develops from improper wash and care practices and is not considered a manufacturing defect.

To help preserve the life of your cloth diapers, we recommend the following wash and care guidelines:

  • Use a wash routine that includes two complete wash cycles, each with detergent. Make sure your detergent contains both enzymes and surfactants for the most effective cleaning.
  • Avoid bleach, vinegar, fabric softeners, and stain removers, which can damage materials over time.
  • Tumble dry on low or line dry for best results.
  • Do not soak, boil, or use high heat settings, as these can weaken PUL and elastics.

Kinder Cloth Diaper Co. is not responsible for damage that may occur as a result of your wash routine, detergent choice, or stain treatment methods. Following the care instructions above will help maximize the lifespan of your diapers while keeping them performing their best for your little one. If you need help with your wash routine, email our care team at help@kinderdiapers.com for personalized support.
