A Second Life for Beloved Prints: Inside Our July Kinder Vault Release
|Krystal Keller

While planning for our summer Vault sale, I reached out to our manufacturing partner and asked her if there was any rolls of excess Kinder fabric hanging out in their warehouse. Much to our surprise, she replied with a dozen photos of rolls of fabric featuring artist collaborations that we had released back in 2022.

These prints weren’t part of any current production plans, but once we saw them, we knew we had a decision to make: let them sit unused, or turn them into something meaningful. Instead of creating something new, we made a conscious decision to use these existing materials to craft a one-time, limited edition Vault release.

Since our licenses for these patterns had expired, I sent emails to each of the artists to ask for permission to bring these prints back as part of a special, limited release. With their approval, we’re excited to give these designs new life—and to ensure the artists are part of it too. As part of this release, 10% of sales from these prints will go directly back to the artists.

This is what sustainability looks like to us: not just talking about reducing waste, but actively finding creative ways to use what already exists. And in this case, materials we didn't know existed at all.

A One-Time Return of Artist Favorites

This vault release features artwork from:

Marina Solodka: Marina is an illustrator and surface designer based in Ukraine. She works with clients around the world. Her mission is to create modern vibrant prints and bright-eyed patterns for fabric, textile, bedding, homewares and kids apparel.

Mike Bennett Art: Joy creator, Mike Bennett, was voted Portland's Best Visual Artist in 2020. Mike is an old friend of Krystal's and is known for his whimsical, hand painted, animal cutouts.

Ships Co. Studio: Stephen is an art director, illustrator and designer based in Nashville with more than 12 years experience working with the food + beverage, hospitality, and non-profit industries.

These collaborations helped define the early Kinder aesthetic… playful, bold, and whimsical. We're thrilled to be able to bring these prints back, even just for a limited time.

The Kinder Vault Experience

Because this release is made from recovered materials, quantities are naturally limited. There are no restocks planned, and no way to reproduce these exact runs again. Each piece is part of a small batch created from what was available, making every item feel like a true find.

Whether you’ve been with Kinder since the early days or you’re discovering these prints for the first time, this is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Kinder history.
